Women In Girdles,pixs
Chapter 7
was pink. Was determined and undeniably pink. The back reminiscent of a scallop shell and arms were rounded. The cushions were decorated with bright silver buttons on it was impossible to be comfortable to sit. The thing was too bizarre to be called "armchair" or even "couch." Announced it as a "couch."
For Natasha, it was love at first sight.
Luckily for Zac, did not see until they were about to leave the furniture store.
Her niece sat on him and began to behave like a Russian princess.
Zac was so tired, so head ached and the knee, also sat.
"Kneel before the Russian princess," he ordered sternly Tash.
Zac threw her head back and closed his eyes.
"Forget it, baby," he muttered.
After Nessa bath house, had brought home, the floodlights had been made and had gone to the beach for her first swimming lesson. It was still quite a hangover, and Zac had not released and a second swimsuit Tash.
She was not afraid. Although he had first seen the sea the day before, he was excited about the water. At the end of the week, go way swim like a fish.
Zac shook his head. How could Sharon's daughter had completed five years without seeing the sea? Efron was the people's expense. His father had worked for years in a fishing boat. They spent the holidays at sea. A Zac and his two older brothers loved the beach. But, suddenly recalled to Sharon. Sharon had been nearly drowned when he was about the same age as Natasha. And more, it was moved inside and had spent much time in Las Vegas and Reno. Tash was born in Tucson, Arizona. And there was not much beach.
After swimming class and forty-five minute sermon on why Tash had to meet standards, had gone home, had eaten, he had changed clothes and gone to buy furniture for the guest room.
That particular store had found Yellow Pages. I was just across the corner and, he said advertising, delivered the furniture the same day without charge. Zac had bought a single mattress, a mattress and a metal bed, and Tash had chosen a comfortable small bright yellow. Together they found a desk, a chair and a bookcase for children.
- Can we take this Zac? Tash asked hopefully.
He let out a breath and opened his eyes.
- A pink sofa? Are you kidding? "As always, she answered his rhetorical question as though it had been serious.
-No.
- And where the hell let's put it? "Zac looked at the price tag. He was allegedly in sales, but worth a small fortune.
"Where is this so ugly.
"Great. Just what you need on the floor, he lifted his head and stood up. Come on. If we do not hurry, the delivery truck will come before us. And do you want your new furniture delivered another child. Tasha got
That was set in motion, but not without a last look at the pink sofa with longing expression.
were only two blocks from home, but Zac stopped a taxi. The heat was relentless and knee hurt so much that I wanted to scream. The head also was giving a hard time.
There was no sign of Nessa in the garden courtyard. His door was locked and bolted, and Zac was found wondering where would be gone.
huge mistake, he said. She had made it clear he did not want to be nothing more than its neighbor. I did not want a guy as he walked sniffing around your door. In fact, he believed a drunk like his father and sister. And it was very likely that if I was not careful, he finished proving that it was wrong.
"is over", he promised himself as he climbed the stairs. That night, if you had insomnia, stand it. It would face the demons that showed their side ugly in the early morning hours spitting in the face. If he woke in the night, spend the time training, doing exercises to strengthen the leg and knee injury.
opened the door of his apartment and Tasha went first, ran across the living room and disappeared down the hall way of the bedrooms. Zac
followed more slowly. Each step he took made him grind his teeth. Need to sit down and rest the knee, lift your leg and cooling with ice.
Tasha was in her room, lying on the carpet that came from one wall to another. He had his back on the floor and stared at the ceiling. While Zac was watching from the door, got up and went to lie down on the other side of the room.
- What are you doing? Asked him to see he did the same a third time.
"I'm choosing where I want to bed," said Tasha from the ground. Zac
could not hide a smile.
"Good idea," he said. Why do not you think for a while? I'm going to rest while awaiting the delivery truck, okay?
"Okay. Zac
returned to the kitchen and pulled out a bag of ice from the freezer. He entered the living room and sat on his old sofa tables, raised his wounded leg and leaned on the cushions. Ice sit well, and threw his head back and closed his eyes.
had to find a way to get those boxes Tash room. There were half a dozen and were too big to move them with one arm. But I could drag. Yes, that would. Would use a blanket or a sheet and put the boxes over, one by one. With the case wrapped tightly like a fish in the net, would pull the blanket and lift the box dragged Tash's room, take her to his y. .. Zac
gasped. Felt rather than heard it, Tasha movement across the room, but suddenly he heard the creak of the front door opened. He opened his eyes and sat up, but she had already left.
- Natasha! Damn is!
The baton had slipped and had gone under the sofa. Bent with effort, grabbed him and moved quickly toward the door.
- Tash!
He leaned against the railing, next to the pulley. Natasha looked from the patio with my eyes wide open.
- Where the hell are you going? "He growled.
"See if Thomas is at home.
The girl did not understand. Zac knew by the way I looked I did not understand why he was angry with her. Deep breath and rapid heartbeat forced her to calm down.
"You forgot to tell me where you were going.
"You were asleep.
"No, he was not asleep. And though he were, that does not mean you can break the rules.
She was silent, watching him. Zac went downstairs.
"Come here," nodded one of the benches in the courtyard. They sat on it. Natasha's feet touched the ground, and rocked back and forth. You know what is a standard? He asked. Tasha chewed his lower lip. She shook her head. Guess "said Zac. What is a standard?
- Anything you want me to do and I do not want to do? She asked. Zac
tried not to laugh, even if it cost a great job.
"It's more than that," he said. It's something you have to do, like it or not. And it is always the same, although I am asleep or awake.
She did not understand. Zac was clear the confusion and disbelief written on his face. He ran a hand over his face while trying to clear his head full of cobwebs. Tired. He could not think how to explain to Natasha that he had to follow its rules at all times. I did not know how to make him understand.
"Hi, guys. Zac
looked up and saw that Vanessa Hudgens is approaching them. Wearing a very summery floral dress, sleeveless, with a long skirt and wide that reached almost to the ground. On the feet wore sandals on his head a straw hat with wide brim and her beautiful face, a friendly smile. Seemed full of freshness, as a long-awaited breeze amid the sweltering heat of late afternoon.
Where had he been dressed like that? "Eating with a friend? Or maybe not, but went. Perhaps he was waiting for the man came who had stayed to dinner. Bastard. Zac frowned and hated that guy, and also allowed himself the small luxury of hating.
"There's a furniture truck unloading at the entrance," she said ignoring his grim expression. In fact, not looking at him. Tash directly addressed. Is that yellow so pretty comfortable on you, by chance?
Natasha jumped up, ignoring the conversation.
- Mia! He shouted, and ran toward the parking lot. It's mine!
- Do not go too far! Zac yelled in a warning tone as he rose. Mouth tightened to support the knee, but resisted the urge to grimace. Nessa did not want to notice how much it hurt. And do not you get off the sidewalk! Nessa
, however, seemed to realize that he was suffering.
- Are you okay? He asked with worried eyes. She followed him back to the parking lot behind Natasha.
"Yes, I'm fine," he answered sharply.
- Do you carry all day with her there?
repeated "I'm fine him.
-You have the right to be tired, "she said with a musical laugh. I was looking after the daughter of a friend last week. He has four years and almost had to take me on a stretcher.
Zac looked at her. She gave an innocent look. He was offered an honorable way, a way of pretending that the wrinkles of pain and fatigue in his face were because he was not accustomed to the energy wasted such a young girl, not his old wound.
"Yes, of course. Nessa
tried not to show their disappointment in the tense response Zachary. I wanted to be her friend, and had assumed that their friendship would continue building on foundations that had weak was established recently. But the understanding that had arrived that morning, whatever, seemed to have been forgotten. The old Zac, grumpy and disagreeable, had returned with renewed vigor.
Unless ...
was possible that his knee hurt him more than she thought.
A dealer approached them.
- Are you Zachary Efron? Asked and without waiting for an answer, handed him a briefcase. Firm where X. Zac
signed.
"The furniture van to 2 ° C. It's right on top of the stairs ...
"Sorry, buddy, but I do not spend here, the man did not seem to feel it the least. My instructions are downloaded the truck. From there, it's up to you.
"Do not tell really," Zachary said, his voice filled with disbelief.
The furniture was on the road, next to the delivery vehicle.
He closed with a bang sliding door of the van.
"Read the fine print of the bill. The distribution is free. That's exactly what you paid.
How could Zac everything up a flight of stairs? Nessa was frustration and anger in his eyes and his mouth tightens.
The man climbed into the cockpit and closed the door.
"I bought the furniture in their store because advertising makes the deal is free Zac said tartly. If you will not upload, you can reload them and take them away.
"First, it is not my store," said the man, and started the engine and put first. And second, has already signed. Zac
had to make an effort not to climb the rung of the cockpit and punch him in the face. But Tash and I were watching Nessa. So I did nothing. He stood there like an idiot as the van drove away. He looked at her feeling powerless, helpless and frustrated. Nessa
then touched his arm. His fingers seemed cool on warm skin. His touch was light and unsteady, but withdrew when he turned and looked at her angrily. "I sent
Tasha to see if Thomas is at home," she said softly. We climb furniture.
"I hate this," he said. The words escaped him before he could stop them. Oozing desperation and shame. Did not mean to say them, reveal much of himself. It was not a complaint, not even a pity. It was a fact. I hated its limitations.
Nessa's eyes were brown warmer, more fluid. He slid his hand up and clasped her fingers.
"I know," he said huskily. Sorry.
He turned to look, to look real.
"You do not even like me," he said. How do you put being so nice?
"Yes I like you," she said, and tried to back away the intensity of his gaze. But he released her hand. I want to be your friend.
Her friend. Pulled back and this time, he let go. I wanted to be friends. But he wanted more ...
- Hey, Zac! Zac
turned. That voice was as familiar as breathing. Lucky was O'Donlon. He had parked his bike in a place for visitors and quietly approached them. He wore his blue uniform for a ride and it looked neat and clean. But Zac knew he was far from it.
- What? Are you selling your furniture or what? -The wide smile and warm blue eyes slid Lucky on furniture, on the staff of Zac and, finally, on Nessa. She spent a particularly long look. Will you introduce me to your friend?
- Do I have choice? Lucky
extended his hand to Nessa.
"I'm Lieutenant Luke O'Donlon, Navy SEAL U.S.. And you are ...?
Nessa smiled. Of course I smiled. Lucky no one could resist.
-Vanessa Hudgens. I am Zac's neighbor.
"I am your partner dives.
"My former partner of dives.
Lucky shook his head.
"That's nothing, put his arm around the neck of Zac and Nessa smiled. Did together during training. That makes us dive mates forever.
"The training course is SEAL-core for Zac Nessa said, pushing it Lucky. Where are you going dressed like that?
-A casual dining at the headquarters. A party in honor of big fish do not know what that amounted to Zac smiled, but looked steadily at Nessa. I thought ya Might like to come. Zac
snorted.
-Not a chance. I hated those parties when I had to go.
"Please ... Lucky pleaded. I need someone to keep me company and I'll spend the night dancing with the wife of Admiral and trying not to pinch me Nessa smiled back and winked.
"Even if I wanted to go," said Zac, "I would not, could not. I care for my sister's daughter next month and a half, 'said the furniture. This is for your room.
"Or the girl likes to sleep outside, or you have very black.
-The second, "said Zac.
"You, girl next door," said Lucky, while clutching one end of the mattress, you seem pretty strong. Grab the other side.
"His name is Vanessa," said Zac.
"Pardon me," said Lucky. Vanessa, honey, grab the other side. Nessa
was laughing, luckily. While watching Zac, Lucky and she took the mattress to the yard. Zac still hear the laughter of Nessa long after they disappeared from view. When she picked up the shelf, which weighed very little, and walked slowly into the courtyard, also heard the chirping excited Tasha and the deep voice of Thomas King.
"Hey, sailor Thomas bowed his head bowed as he passed. I knew I should not offer to carry the shelf.
"Thanks for help me out, kid," said Zac.
"No problem" said the teenager.
No problem. Maybe everything was not a problem for everyone ... but it was for him.
left the shelf at the foot of the stairs and looking up saw that Lucky left his apartment with Tasha in her arms. Was tickling the girl and she laughed. Nessa went after them, and she laughed. Zac had never seen so beautiful, nor so relaxed. Lucky leaned over and whispered something in his ear, and Nessa laughed again. Started down the stairs and looked at Lucky to get away without taking his eyes from the swaying of her hips. Zac
had to look away. Lucky could not complain. In another era, were very similar. Still seemed in many ways. He was not surprised that his best friend also was attracted by Nessa.
It took ten minutes to bring Tasha room furniture and put the boxes in Zac's room.
Thomas went to work and Nessa apologized and disappeared into his flat ... after smile when Lucky came to shake hands with great fanfare.
-Me ha ... told me that you are friends, "said Lucky indifference when Zac too accompanied him to his bike. Zac
was silent, wondering what could respond to that assertion. If you said yes, there Lucky would constantly ask her out to Nessa and lift fore his famous charm and his insistence until she relent. And she would yield. Lucky no one could resist. Then Zac would have to see how his best friend out and surely seduce the woman he wanted. It was true. I wanted to Nessa. And he was willing to do everything in his power to get it.
"You are mistaken," said Lucky. We're more than friends. Only she does not know yet.
If Lucky was disappointed, he hid it well. And his disappointment soon turned to joy sincere.
"It's great. That means you're back, "he said.
- To the SEALs? "Zac shook his head. Do not you know that I have ...?
"No," interrupted Lucky. I was referring to the world of the living. Zac
stared at his friend. Lucky I did not understand. He was alive. He had spent five years of pain and frustration to prove it.
"Call me sometime," Lucky said as he fastened his motorbike helmet. I miss you, buddy.
I awoke to the sound of an electric bell. It was loud and was right next to your ear ...
He woke up, wide awake.
was the sound of the bell that was connected to the front door last night before going to bed. Damn, Tasha had turned to leave without permission.
shorts were made to get out of bed and picked up his cane on the floor.
God, how tired I was. That night he had gone to bed, but had not slept. I could not do more than two hours he had finally reconciled sleep. However, he had succeeded. He had spent the night without the help of a single swallow of whiskey.
Perhaps he was exhausted, but had no hangover. And it was fortunate because, if well, the sound of ringing would have lifted the lid of his head.
Quickly disconnect the device. It was a very simple system, designed to break the circuit if the door is opened. If the circuit is interrupted, the bell sounded. He opened the door
y. ..
Tasha was just across the mosquito net with Nessa after her.
She still wore her pajamas. Nessa took swimsuit placed under the shorts and shirt. Zac saw the strip of colors that it was tied around his neck.
"Hello," she said. Zac looked angrily Tash.
- Where demo ...?
-Tasha would visit me Nessa-cut it, "but it has been agreed they first had to tell you where he went to the little-watched. Right, Tash?
Tasha nodded.
Tasha "had been agreed? Were more likely to be mutually agreed Nessa. Above the head of the girl, she said "positive reinforcement" his lips moving soundlessly. Zac swallowed his anger. Okay. If Nessa thought Tasha was made to understand that way, he would make an effort. Somehow managed to gather much more enthusiasm than he felt.
"How well you remembered," said the little girl, and opened the screen door to let them pass. He forced himself to smile and visibly encouraged Tasha.
Gee, Nessa may have been right.
took the girl into his arms and began to spin until she started to laugh. Then he dropped her on the couch.
"Actually," he continued, "you're so incredible, I think we should give a medal. Do not you think? "She nodded her head in amazement.
- What is a medal?
"It's a very special pin that you get when you do something very important ... and remember the rules, "said Zac. Lowered to her knees and sat on the sofa cushions. Wait here. I'll get it.
Nessa, who was standing near the door, saw it with effort and head up the hall way to his room.
"Getting a medal is very important," Zac raised his voice so they could hear from the living room. It takes a special ceremony.
Almost unable to contain the excitement, Tasha began to jump on the couch. Nessa had to smile. Apparently. Zac understand the concept of positive reinforcement.
"Let's go," he said when he returned to the living room. Nessa looked and smiled. Was very bad this morning. She had never seen him so tired. It was clear that a moment before was sound asleep. But somehow, it seemed more energetic and had the clearest eyes. And the smile that was released was very sweet, almost shy. A Nessa was given the heart in his throat when he saw his niece.
"By remembering my rules and regulations, including rule number one, tell me where you're going before you leave home," he said solemnly Zac, Efron Natasha grant this medal of honor. He turned on in your pajamas
Tasha one of the colored bars that Nessa had seen in his dress uniform.
"Now, I salute you and say hello to me," whispered the little after holding the pin.
stood firm and made a military salute. Tasha imitated him quite well.
"The SEAL salute only when someone receives a medal," said Zac Nessa looking again. He sat on the sofa beside her. Let to do something, "he said. To keep this medal, now you have to remember my rules all day. Remember them?
-warn you when I leave ...
"Even if I'm asleep. You have to wake up, okay? What else?
"Stay here ...
"In the courtyard, very well. "Y. ..?
"No swimming without a buddy.
"It's unbelievable, I've said all right. High five!
Natasha giggled and slapped the hand of his uncle.
"But that's not the whole deal," he said. Are you listening, Tash? "She nodded," When you have a lot of these medals, you know what? "Tasha said with no head. That change, "he added as he played with one hand back on the sofa where they sat, by the way pink sofa. Nessa
thought it was quite possible that the small was about to burst with joy.
"You'll have to work hard to follow the rules," said Zac, "You have to remember that if I want you to obey, you do not want anything to happen to you, and I worried when I do not know if you're safe. You have to think about it and remember it, because I do not want to worry me, right?
Tasha nodded.
- You have to follow my rules? Zac
was surprised, but hid.
- What are your standards?
"No more swearing," said little without hesitation.
Zac Nessa looked again. embarrassed.
"Okay," he said, looking back to Tasha "It's hard, but I'll try.
-Playing more with Nessa, suggested Tasha, he laughed nervously.
"I'm not sure we can meet that standard. Tash. Because the things we can do you and I are fine, but ...
"I love to play," muttered Nessa.
Zac looked at her. She could not have meant what it seemed. No, I was talking to Natasha. But still ... Zac was carried away by your imagination. And the prospect excited him.
"But for this you need a standard, "said Nessa.
- Can you come to the beach with us for my swimming lesson? Tasha asked. Nessa
hesitated and looked cautiously Zac on the other side of the room.
"I will not interfere.
"You're wearing a swimsuit," he said.
She seemed surprised that I had noticed.
"Well, yes, but ...
- Did you think going to another beach?
-No ... I just do not want ... you know ... He shrugged his shoulders and smiled nervously, as if to apologize, "... interfere.
"Not at all," said Zac. Heavens, seemed as nervous as she. How long was that so hard? Before he did well in those things. Tasha wants you to come with us perfect. Now it seemed he wanted to accompany them to play with his niece. And it was not that at all. Y. .. I, "he said.
God, his heart in his mouth. He swallowed hard and tried to return to your site while looking at him with curiosity Nessa.
"Well, okay," she said finally. In that case, I love to go. If you want, I can prepare some food for a picnic ...
- Yes! Tasha shouted, and started jumping around the room, a picnic! A picnic!
felt Zac smiled. A picnic on the beach with Nessa. Do not remember the last time he had excited both something. And his emotion is not only due to the fact that she wanted to see her in a swimsuit, but it also greatly desired.
"I guess that is a" yes. " But you should not be you who brought food. "I'll
sandwiches Nessa said as he opened the door. You bring something to drink. Some drink. Or beer, if you want.
"No beer," said Zac. She stopped and looked back with his hand on the knob of the mosquito.
"That's another rule that I will continue from now," he said calmly. Natasha had stopped dancing around the room. I was listening with wide eyes. Anything to drink. Not even a beer
Nessa turned from the door. His eyes were as big as Tasha.
"Mmm, Tash, why do not you put on your swimsuit? -Tasha went quietly down the hall. Zac shook his head.
"No big deal. Nessa
was clear that he thought otherwise. She went to him and lowered his voice so that Tasha would not hear them.
- You know, there are support groups throughout the city. You can find a meeting virtually any time of day ...
You really thought she had a serious problem with drinking?
"Look, I can manage," he said in gruff tone. I've spent a couple of days, but nothing more. He did not drink anything when was in the hospital ... until two days ago. These last few days ... I've seen exactly at my best.
"Sorry," she murmured. I did not want to imply that ...
-not important.
She touched his arm. Her fingers were soft, fresh and smooth.
-Yes, it does, "he said. Natasha is very important.
"Do not do it for Tash," he said quietly as he watched the delicate hand resting on the tense muscles of his arm and wanted to leave her there, but knew it was going to lead away. I do it for myself.
